I can’t count how many times I have been to Bangkok. This city has been my second home since I moved to France as I have spent more time here than my hometown in the Philippines. There is just something about Bangkok that attracts me despite its hustle and bustle. Perhaps, the food and vibe? Most likely.
Whenever we are in the capital of Thailand, my husband and I always find ourselves lodging in Khaosan area – every backpacker’s favorite place to stay. This area is always vibrant with great restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. We couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else that offers the same vibe. We figured ibis Styles Bangkok Khaosan Viengtai was the place to be when it began operating recently. It is strategically located in Rambuttri, right next to Khaosan road’s action but not too close so you can still have a good night’s rest. With ibis Styles Viengtai’s solid soundproof system, we beat the jetlag after only one night.
General Manager Pierre-Yves Viou said, “Located in the heart of the capital’s cultural old town, ibis Styles Bangkok Khaosan Viengtai offers travelers a home-away-from-home in the quaint and vibrant district of Khaosan. Featuring some of the best bars, clubs and eats in town, Khaosan offers a welcome respite for travelers looking for a quick weekend getaway.”
We appreciated the warm welcome and smiles from the staff who were all out in helping us with whatever we needed. They were also happy to extend help with our onward travel arrangements.
Our room was well laid out and partly carpeted. We fell in love with the funky colors and the contemporary vibe. The colors were pleasing to the eyes without overpowering the calmness and serenity of the room.
We had a large TV with tons of premium channels and tons of sockets to plug in our devices. We had a large bed which was so comfy that I could stay there forever. If you are traveling with friends or family, they also have triple and family rooms to accommodate larger groups.
Every morning was something to look forward to. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of Asian and Western options including English breakfast, soups, pancakes, waffles, croissants, and many others. There is also an egg station where you can decide how you’d like your eggs. Of course, free-flow of delicious coffee is available, too. I could easily get my mocha-fix each morning.
We also had the opportunity to dine at the in-house restaurant called Streats Bar & Bistro. It is open from early breakfast until late supper, 7 days a week. But what make Streats a must-try for all Khaosan visitors is not only the authentic taste and tantalizing palate experience on offer, but also the unique ambiance of raw energy that encapsulates the effervescent street life vibe of the Khaosan area. It boasts authentic, savory dishes which includes their signature burgers, Japanese scallops, Australian lamb, and a lot more mouth-watering dishes. Just like the hotel where it is housed, it is also well furnished and decorated.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at ibis Styles Bangkok Khaosan Viengtai. The location just couldn’t be any better with the top of the line service. Its colorful, vibrant rooms gave us a tranquil abode to recover from our jetlag.
