Are you sick of the trials and tribulations of modern life? Ready to just get away from everything and unwind for a few days? Here are some of the world’s most relaxing destinations and top tourist attractions. So, why not sit back, take a deep breath, and get ready to jet off.

Reykjavik, Iceland

Do hot spas and mud packs sound like your idea of heaven? If so, then you need to book a holiday to Reykjavik in Iceland.

Northern Lights

Reykjavik is the country’s capital, but it is so small and compact that it won’t feel like any capital city you’ve ever been to! Forget the stereotype of a busy metropolis, this is one laid-back place! Plus, it places you within very easy reach of some awesome lagoons. The Blue Lagoon is the most popular, and the mud and bright blue water are said to have strong healing properties.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the Greek Islands so you can expect some gorgeous coastal views and pretty landscapes. It also has some very sophisticated hotels if you are looking for some luxury, five-star travel.

In fact, one of them even features on the list of 6 jaw-dropping infinity pools so you can be sure that you are in for some super relaxing times! If you can pull yourself away from the pool, you take a walk along one of its volcanic-sand beaches at sunset.

The Maldives

If you are interested in another island getaway where you can spend a few days unwinding, you should consider booking a few nights on the Maldives. This is a world-famous spa destination and you’ll find some of the best spa hotels in the world here.

There is also plenty of history on the island as well. For instance, you can visit the Friday Mosque in Male, which is the oldest mosque on the island and dates back to 1656.

The Algarve, Portugal

Known for its stunning coastline and cliffs, the Algarve is one of Portugal’s most popular tourist destinations. But don’t worry; that doesn’t mean that there will be loads of crowds of tourists.

Algarve

It’s such a large area that everyone is spread out. You will find deluxe holiday villas spread across the coast and plenty of bracing hikes for those times you need to blow off any steam.

Sicily, Italy

Sicily features a lot of all-inclusive resorts, so it’s the perfect place to head if you just want to relax by the pool while someone keeps bringing you cocktails. The resorts are stunning so you might not want to leave, but if you can, it’s worth spending some time exploring the island’s coastline.

Sicily

Not only that, though, but it’s worth getting out of the resort to experience the local cuisine. The island’s restaurants serve up some tantalizing dishes, and you will certainly taste some of the best pasta in the world!

Holidays don’t have to be busy city breaks. As you can see from this list, there are plenty of places you can head to for some serious chill out time!

Santorini is the city, even as it becomes more upscale as it gentrifies, retains an old-fashioned quality.
