Tranquil seaside retreat at Amorita Resort Panglao

Escape to the tranquil retreat of Amorita Resort on Panglao Island. Experience Filipino hospitality, and more.

Secluded atop a limestone cliff on the southern edge of Bohol’s Panglao Island, Amorita Resort is a tranquil seaside retreat that marries world-class service with signature Filipino hospitality.

Managed by boutique hotel group One-Of Collection, the luxury resort overlooks the azure–colored Bohol Sea and elegantly punctuates the vibrant tropical landscape along Alona Beach.

Arriving at Amorita Resort

As soon as we arrived at Amorita Resort’s reception, we instantly began to feel the signature Filipino hospitality.

The receiving staff escorted us to Saffron Restaurant where a personalized check-in has been arranged away from the rest of the arriving hotel guests.

Amorita Resort’s Saffron Restaurant sits in the middle of the resort which offers Boholano heritage cuisine alongside a wide range of Continental and Asian food favorites emphasizing freshness and local availability.

Not long after, we were finally escorted to our one bedroom suite.

Our Amorita Resort room tour

First impression: Massive!

I swear I could almost curse of how big our suite was. I just couldn’t believe we had a generous space of 80 square meters all to ourselves.

Clean, minimalist and modern – that was the overall theme of our one bedroom suite. I loved the bare walls and floor, the subtle earth tones…

Everything just worked for me.

In my opinion, our suite was practically a house!

We were very much pleased with how cozy and spacious it was.

There was a large L-shaped couch at the elegant living room which doubled as extra beds for 2 additional guests.

There was also a 55-inch cable TV with plenty of premium channels, an individually controlled air conditioning unit and a beautifully crafted ceiling fan.

A few steps away was our dining area which featured a 4-seater round table, minibar, Nespresso, tea making facilities and a small sink.

A glass door opened up to the private balcony overlooking Amorita Resort’s lush garden.

Our welcome snacks included a basket of fresh fruits, a jar of homemade cookies, a jar of vegetable salad, two bottles of cucumber watermelon and two bottles of coke (for sugar fix).

The bathroom featured an open-concept which ultimately gave a great sense of space and ease of access.

I completely appreciated the added chair because well, most ladies often take their sweet time in front of the mirror.

I think it was also a nice touch to have a dock for the hairdryer which has already been plugged and ready for use.

There was a deep soaking tub which was definitely one to behold (and one I was thankful for at the end of the day).

An added bonus was an extraordinarily large towel provided which doubled as a pillow for the head to rest on.

Other bathroom amenities included his and her sink, a sink-to-ceiling mirror, hair dryer, rainfall shower with hot & cold options, toilet and organic bath amenities.

Our room

Finally, the bedroom.

We had a king sized 4-poster bed facing another 55-inch cable TV because let’s be honest, there’s no way you are going to get out of that comfortable bed once you are in it.

There were two bedside table and lamps which turns on or off just by touching its base (I thought it’s pretty interesting).

The wardrobe was an open concept as well with only unique bare shelves attached to the walls.

There was an electronic safe located next to the beach bag and two pairs of rubber slippers provided.

This 4-poster bed reminded me of our trip to Bali where we also had a similar bed.

It was simplistic but super comfy which made it difficult to get up in the morning.

If it were my own bed though, I would probably add some drapes to make it more romantic and intimate.

Breakfast at Saffron Restaurant

Morning bites were always enjoyable at Saffron Restaurant with the stunning views and ambiance.

There were plenty of buffet options, from Filipino to Western food favorites.

I was jumping for joy upon seeing my favorite danggit on the menu while my husband was raving about their homemade jams.

Dinner at Tomar

We also had the opportunity to dine at Tomar: Tapas x Bar, Amorita Resort’s very own wine and tapas bar.

It looks back at the classic Tapas, Paellas, and Pintxos that has been a staple of Spanish cuisine and gives it both a local and modern touch.

Tomar also houses carefully curated wine and whiskey selections from around the globe.

Beautiful pools and other amenities

The resort has everything for a perfect vacation.

They have two infinity pools with stunning views although, we only used one near Saffron Restaurant while the other one is under renovation.

Other facilities include a gym, bikes, kayaks, SUP boards, yoga, scuba diving and Bohol tours.

Alona beach is also conveniently accessed through Amorita Resort’s cliff side gate. There were lounge chairs and towels provided for guests as well.

Our stay at Amorita Resort was our much-needed breather after drowning from all the bureaucratic nonsense affairs to process our Livret de Famille (French Family Book).

The resort gave us a tranquil retreat that compliments the natural beauty of Bohol which is a testament that the resort is true to its reputation and brand.
